I had read about silver nanotechnology for antibacterial use, but I was still amazed just how effective your socks really are. Thanks I will tell the guys at work (some of them really need your socks). Keep up the good work.

We all sweat on a hot day or when exercising, to help regulate our body temperature. However, around 1% of the population suffers from excessive sweating when they’re not even hot or exerting themselves. This condition is called hyperhidrosis, and can have specific areas of focus such as foot hyperhidrosis, sometimes called plantar hyperhidrosis. Often long-term, the condition can be provoked by stress, certain spicy foods, illness or heat, but in the main comes on randomly and for no apparent reason. So how can we combat this embarrassing problem, particularly when hyperhidrosis makes shoes smelly, or causes smelly feet? The first step is understanding the condition.
There are two main types of hyperhidrosis, primary and secondary. The former is more common, and confines the excessive sweating to the face, hands, armpits and feet. (Foot hyperhidrosis is also known as plantar hyperhidrosis, and can cause smelly feet in shoes and trainers). Secondary hyperhidrosis affects the whole body, and can be extremely uncomfortable. Although both conditions mainly develop in the teenage years, they can continue throughout life into adulthood.
There are a variety of treatments for hyperhidrosis, but as yet no cure for the condition. Treatment for foot hyperhidrosis can be especially effective, however. While normal antiperspirants and aluminum chloride antiperspirants - that block the sweat ducts - are only an expensive and short-term fix, special creams are also messy and inconvenient.
More serious treatments include iontophoresis, which uses electrical stimulation to block sweat glands, and botulinum toxin injections, that stop the sweat gland nerves from working. These are all significant last resorts, especially for foot hyperhidrosis, for which a workable solution does exist.
Foot or plantar hyperhidrosis can create the hot and damp conditions that promote bacterial and fungal growth. This causes smelly feet and ruins trainers and shoes, and can be particularly embarrassing.
But with AgActive SilverSure socks there is an answer. SilverSure technology binds real silver into fabric like a dye, so when you wear our socks, tiny particles of silver nano dust come off in your shoes and deodorize them. Silver is anti microbial, which means it eradicates the bacteria that cause smelly feet, and it’s anti fungal too, so it kills the fungus that causes athlete’s foot and other conditions.
So while SilverSure socks from AgActive can’t cure foot hyperhidrosis, they are certainly one of the most practical and cost effective ways of keeping smelly feet at bay for planter hyperhidrosis sufferers.
